Job Description:
• Define standard infrastructure performance and life-cycle metrics and collection processes
• Monitors, collects, maintains, and reports on infrastructure performance and life-cycle metrics
• Proactively makes improvement performance and life-cycle recommendations
• Participates and develops upgrade and replacement roadmap for key infrastructure components
• Monitors technology trends and research relevant technical developments for applicability to applications.
• Participates in the development of tactical or strategic technology directions
• Coordinates meetings with applications developers and technology & infrastructure operations staff, identifying issues/concerns, preparing meeting agendas, and ensuring appropriate follow-up.
• Participates in infrastructure architecture design in support of application development.
• Analyzes and evaluates the technical requirements of proposed systems.
• Advises or assists application development teams in the selection and application of appropriate technical standards.
• Conducts analysis of hardware and software, as needed for the implementation of a technical architecture.
• Provides status updates and reports to project management and development team members on a consistent basis.
• Develops or integrates components of the technical architecture, as required.
• Coordinates the assignment of team and other support resources (vendors, T&O) to support the development and implementation of systems.
• Ensures appropriate implementation of the technical architecture, in cooperation with technology and operations staff, to ensure continued overall reliable execution of systems.
• Performs other work as required or requested as well as additional assignments.
Requirements :
HP Business Service Management Tools (HP OpenView Tools, etc.)
• Must have thorough knowledge of infrastructure performance and life-cycle metrics.
• Must have thorough knowledge of methods and techniques in collecting infrastructure performance and life-cycle metrics.
• Must have demonstrated ability to aggregate and maintain large sets of infrastructure performance and life-cycle metrics.
• Must have demonstrated ability to analyze infrastructure performance and life-cycle metrics and make improvement recommendations.
• Must have excellent knowledge of multiple platforms and operating systems.
• Must be able to complete assignments with minimum supervision and limited toolset.
• Must be able to interact with diverse infrastructure teams to collect performance and life-cycle metric.
• Must be able to coordinate teams, develop objectives and resolve issues.
• Must be able to acquire and effectively demonstrate any additional knowledge and skill requirements as requested.
• Should have above average knowledge of multi-tier technical architectures.
• Should have above average knowledge of database, networking, and storage technologies.
• Should have good understanding of technology trends and technical developments.
• Should have general knowledge of systems management technologies, tools, and concepts.
• Should have general knowledge of project planning and management.
